The net will be open to all amateur radio operators and the purpose of this net is to provide information and training. Any ham club or group will be permitted to make a brief announcement on the net that would be of interest to all amateurs. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">In addition, a brief training topic will be presented at each net. WE are open to any suggestions for training topics and are looking for volunteers to be net control operators. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">The first net will be held this coming Thursday, 19 March 2026 on the intermountain Intertie, eventually we will connect this net to include the Sinbad system once the connection issues are worked out. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">We welcome all amateurs especiallynewly incensed amateurs or those who have not been on the air for a while. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">At some point we may create a check in list, but for the first few nets we will be getting everything organized. This Net&#8217;s main purpose is to be helpful to those participating and to discus Equipment \/ Antenna issues and operating practices and to just be helpful to one another.\u00a0 We also handle traffic and just keep track of one another.\u00a0 It is informal and Rag chewing is encouraged.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">## A NOTE FROM N7GTE BOB CRAVEN ##<\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Dear friends,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">During management meetings with the Division of Emergency Management for the past year, upper management has made the decision to focus effort on building a statewide, deployable All Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT) Communication Unit (COMU). Along with that the ReadyOp database will be a resource for the DEM to announce and invite amateur radio volunteers to participate in training and exercises in building trained Communication unit Leaders, (COML), Communications Technicians, (COMT), and Radio Operators, (RADO) to fill the COMU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">On March 28th of this year, I fully retired from my part time employment with the State of Utah and the Division of Emergency Management. Since that time the decision has also been made to discontinue the Division of Emergency Management Amateur Radio Volunteer (DEM ARV) Nets, the old RACES Nets, effective immediately (June19th).
