An FCC instructional video provides step-by-step<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>instructions on how to obtain an FRN through the FCC&#8217;s COmmission<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>REgistration System (CORES).<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>The video is available\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/fcc.gov\/rofrn\">HERE<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>In addition, all applications are now required to<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>contain an email address for FCC correspondence. Applicants will<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>receive an email direct from the FCC with a link to the official<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>electronic copy of their license whenever a license is issued or<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">changed.<\/span> ARRL VEC suggests that those without access to email to use<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>the email address of a family member or friend. Licensees will be<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>able to log in to the ULS using their FRN and password to download<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><strong>the latest version of their license at any time. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The FCC no longer <\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>provides paper license documents.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">New FCC $35.00 Application Fee Will Not Apply to Amateur Radio License Upgrades<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #ffff00;\"> <span style=\"font-size: large;\">The FCC explained that the new fees will apply only to applications for a new license, renewal, rule waiver, or a new vanity call sign. As previously announced, the new fees take effect on April 19, 2022.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #ffff00;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8220;We are pleased that the FCC will not charge licensees the FCC application fee for license upgrade applications,&#8221; said ARRL Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC) Manager Maria Somma, AB1FM. &#8220;While applicants for a new license will need to pay the $35 FCC application fee, there will be no FCC charge for future upgrades and administrative updates, such as a change of mailing or email address. Most current licensees, therefore, will not be charged the new FCC application fee until they renew their license or apply for a new vanity call sign.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">ARRL previously\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a style=\"color: #ffff00;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/news\/new-amateur-radio-license-applications-fee-to-become-effective-april-19-2022\">reported<\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0that the new $35 application fee for amateur radio licenses will become effective on April 19, 2022.
