Bylaws<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
\t\t\t\t\tNAME<\/span>\r\n1.\tThe name of the club shall be the Sinbad Desert Amateur Radio Club i.e.: \"SDARC\".\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\tDIRECTORS<\/span>\r\n1.\tThe Sinbad Desert Amateur Radio Club shall elect no less than five (5) officers who will be responsible for the \r\n\toperation of the club as follows:\r\n\t\tPresident\r\n\t\tNorthern Vice President\r\n\t\tSouthern Vice President\r\n\t\tSecretary \/ Treasurer\r\n\t\tCommunication Officer\r\n\t\t\r\n2.\tThe duties of the elected officers will be as follows:\r\n\t(a)\tPresident: The President will preside at all of the regular meetings of the club. He \/ She will\r\n\t\talso represent the club at all local, state, and national functions in which the club chooses to\r\n\t\tparticipate. The President will be responsible for the general operation of the club, appointing\r\n\t\tsuch committees as he \/ she may deem necessary for the Clubs operation. The President will\r\n\t\thave the authority to spend no more than $25.00 from the Club's treasury for emergency\r\n\t\texpenses without the prior approval of the majority of members assembled at a regular\r\n\t\tbusiness meeting.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t(b)\tNorthern Vice President: He \/ She will assume the duties of the President in his \/ her absence\r\n\t\ttaking charge of the meetings scheduled in his \/ her district when requested to do so by the\r\n\t\tPresident.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t(c)\tSouthern Vice President: He \/ She will assume the duties of the President in his \/ her absence\r\n\t\ttaking charge of the meetings scheduled in his \/ her district when requested to do so by the\r\n\t\tPresident.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t(d)\tSecretary \/ Treasurer: He \/ She will keep the minutes of each meeting both regular and\r\n\t\tspecial meetings. The Secretary \/ Treasurer will present all copies of bills to be paid at the\r\n\t\tregular business meetings for the approval of the members present. He \/ She will also\r\n\t\treceive monies into the Club, placing same into the Club's bank account. The Secretary \/\r\n\t\tTreasurer will keep proper books pertaining to the financial transactions of the Club. These\r\n\t\titems are to be kept in a neat and orderly fashion and to be open to the membership at the\r\n\t\tfirst of each year to be reviewed and passed at a regular meeting by the membership. The \r\n\t\tDirectors will also have access to the records and the Secretary \/ Treasurer is responsible\r\n\t\tto give the Directors a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual report, whichever is voted by \r\n\t\tthe Directors.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t(e)\tCommunication Officer: The Communication Officer will be in charge of all field days\r\n\t\tinsuring that proper Radio procedures are used at all times. He \/ She will also be responsible\r\n\t\tfor the maintenance and operation of any Civil Defense facilities which the Club may become\r\n\t\tinvolved in.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t(f)\tThe Club Trustee will act in an advisory capacity to the Club. He \/ She will offer his \/ her\r\n\t\tadvice and expertise to the membership when asked to do so. The Club Trustee will not\r\n\t\tbe an elected officer, however the junior past-president will assume these duties upon\r\n\t\tretirement from the office of President. In the event the junior past-president is unable to\r\n\t\tfulfill this office the President with his \/ her core of officers will appoint a past-president to\r\n\t\tserver out the term of office.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t(g)\tAn auditing committee consisting of three (3) members which will include the Secretary \/\r\n\t\tTreasurer shall be appointed by the President to audit the Club's financial affairs and present\r\n\t\ttheir report to the membership. This report shall be presented to the club each January.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n3.\tThe Election of Directors will be as follows:\r\n\t(a)\tElection of Directors for the Sinbad Desert Amateur Radio Club will be held during the first\r\n\t\tregularly scheduled meeting in January. Nominations of candidates for elected offices will be\r\n\t\tplaced in motion one (1) month prior to the elections with the Secretary notifying the\r\n\t\tmembership at large the pending election. The nominations are to be so arranged that the\r\n\t\tcandidates for President will be selected from the northern district one year and from the\r\n\t\tsouthern district on the alternating years to be alternating thereafter. The Carbon-Emery\r\n\t\tCounty line shall be defined as the boundary between the northern and southern districts.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\tMEMBERSHIP<\/span>\r\n1.\tThe area of membership for the Club shall be Southeastern Utah. \r\n\t(a)\tMembers from outside this area will be solicited if they are not being served by an active \r\n\t\tclub or if they wish to hold dual membership in one or more clubs. Dual memberships will \r\n\t\tbe permitted by the Club.\r\n\t\r\n\t(b)\tMembership in the Sinbad Desert Amateur Radio Club will not be restricted in any way \r\n\t\tby sex, age, creed, race, or culture. Potential new members must show an interest in \r\n\t\tAmateur Radio and be willing to work and support the Club.\r\n\r\n\t(c)\tMembership dues will be $15.00 per year with a $5.00 initiation fee for all new members.\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\tPURPOSE<\/span>\r\n1.\tThe order of business shall be as follows:\r\n\t(a)\tCall to Order\r\n\t(b)\tReading of the minutes of last regular meeting and all special meetings held\r\n\t(c)\tReading of communications and mail\r\n\t(d)\tPresentation of bills for payment\r\n\t(e)\tOld Business\r\n\t(f)\tNew Business\r\n\t\r\n2.\tFund raising activities operated by the Club will be conducted in such a manner that they conform to all federal, state,\r\n\tand local laws<\/em>.\r\n\t\r\n3.\tThe operation and maintenance of repeater units sponsored by the Club will be the responsibility of the maintenance\r\n\tcommittee who will be appointed by the President with the approval of his core officers. All members will be\r\n\texpected to offer their services in the installation and maintenance of the equipment sponsored by the Club. It\r\n\twill be the responsibility of each member to maintain correct radio procedures when using these facilities. No\r\n\tmember of the Club may purchase new or used equipment for the Club without the approval of a majority of the\r\n\tmembers assembled at a regular business meeting.\r\n\t\r\n4.\tMeeting days shall be the first Thursday of each month with special meetings to called by an elected officer as\r\n\tneeded. Regular meetings shall be alternated between the northern and southern districts on a monthly basis. The\r\n\tCall to Order shall be no later than 8:00 p.m.\r\n\t\r\n5.\tAll requests for club assistance shall be presented to the membership at a club meeting. The only exception will be\r\n\tCivil Emergencies.\r\n\t\r\n\r\nDATED and passed this _________ day of _______________________________, 1982 by the membership of the\r\nSINBAD DESERT AMATEUR RADIO CLUB as read.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/pre>\n
\t\t\t\t       AMENDMENTS<\/span>\r\n\r\n1.\tThe Autopatch will not be used to play back messages on answering machines or to bypass long distance charges\r\n\twhen a regular telephone is available.\r\n\r\n2.\tEmergency traffic will be handled by one (1) operator at a time, the only exception is if he \/ she asks for\r\n\tadditional assistance.\r\n\r\n3.\tChange nominations for Officers to the November meeting and Elections to the December meeting. New Officers\r\n\twill take over on January 1.\r\n\t\r\n4.\tThe Club dues will raise from $15.00 Per Year with a $5.00 initiation fee for new members to $20.00 Per Year.\r\n\r\n5.\tElect a \"Fringe area of Representatives\" from North and South areas of our repeater coverage area during regular\r\n\tElections.\r\n\t\r\n6.\tThe Autopatch will be for DUE paying members except for emergencies which shall be open for ALL users.\r\n\r\n7.\tAssess $5.00 each year for the AUTOPATCH fee which includes 10 autodial numbers. This assessment is\toptional,\r\n\tif the Member does not want autodial numbers then this fee can be waved.\r\n\t\r\n8.\tDUES will be due on January 1st<\/sup> of each year instead of 12 months from the time the dues where paid initially.\r\n\r\n9.\tEMERGENCY PURCHASES may be made if two or more club officers make the Decision for the purchase. The Club \r\n\tSecretary \/ Treasurer will be excluded from the decision making process. The Emergency is deemed as a \"Life and \r\n\tProperty\" emergency or a \"Repeater Repair\" in cases of approaching weather that may make the Repeater site\r\n\tnon-accessible before the next scheduled meeting.\r\n\r\n10.\tClub Dues will be raised to $25.00 per year starting January 2004.\r\n\r\nThese Corrections and Amendments to the \"Bylaws\" have been passed and DATED this 8th<\/sup> day of January, 2004 \r\nby the membership of the SINBAD DESERT AMATEUR RADIO CLUB.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/pre>\n
