ARRL Net Startup Tonight June 19

New net

This will be on the intermountain Intertie Linked Repeaters tonight, so 447.625 88.5pl, 447.125 100.0pl, 147.120 100pl Repeaters in the Carbon / Emery area’s.
I am not sure if it will be linked into the SDARC system or not, I guess it depends on how many people want to listen to the ARRL I guess and let me know before 8Pm tonight.

Since the Division of Emergency Management has decided to discontinue
DEMARV and the nets have been cancelled, ARRL Utah has decided to step
in to fill the hole that’s been left.
This statewide net will meet, at least temporarily, on the same
frequencies and at the same times as the monthly nets which have
recently been discontinued by the Utah Department of Emergency
Management. This new net does not require membership in ARRL, ARES or
any other organization to participate.
We would like to thank the Utah VHF Society for granting permission to
conduct this net on the Intermountain Intertie. It is not the intention
of ARES to directly replace the discontinued nets per se. The Amateur
Radio Emergency Service has a mission which doesn’t stop at government
jurisdictions. It also includes relief agencies, hospitals, and other
groups serving the public in times of crisis. If you are looking for a
meaningful role in serving these varied organizations, and are
interested in frequent, relevant training opportunities, we invite you
to join us.
The ARV roster included hundreds of amateurs. Since we’re starting from
scratch and may end up with a very large group, here is how tonight’s
net will proceed. Check-ins will be called by repeater frequency and
location, further separated by alphabetical suffix groups where
appropriate.
Our primary goal tonight is to gather an initial roster. We will then
proceed from there in building a new roster and continuing with a
statewide net on a regularly scheduled basis.
